Rule of Thumb to Internet Marketing |
Internet marketing is not exactly simple. People that are Internet savvy tend to believe that websites need to have a lot of keyword rich content but this is not necessarily the case. Copy needs to have a flow, provide useful information, and be readable. It should not have a bunch of keywords slapped in all over the place. Content is KING!
Most of us have a limited amount of time to dedicate to creating web content and articles that SELL our product or service. Unfortunately, some of us just lack specific skills.
"Why recreate something that isn't broken?" Instead, utilize these 4 simple tips to spice up your Internet marketing material.
One: Humorous Quotes are Always a Good Idea
Maybe you should think about creating a web page solely dedicated to humorous quotes. This is great way to drive traffic to your site but many overlook it. Books such as "Great Quotes from Great Leaders", by Peg Anderson can be used as a resource. Or, try just typing in some quotes you
already know into a search engine to find other websites already dedicated to quotes.
You have to dedicate some time to research available material so that you can find the perfect quote. Either copy the material and paste it to your web page or have someone else do this for you. Then, add a link to your company website and wait for the traffic to generate.
Two: Web Articles
Online copyright laws are seldom enforced. You are free to copy text, rewrite, re-print, distribute, and sell the material you find. Investing in a copyright website is too expensive for most small businesses. But in the end, "you" win. It's easier to research a topic, gather the information, and rewrite the material, than shoot straight from your hip.
Never resort to "stealing" material as it is both unethical and illegal but there is nothing wrong with using material as a resource.
3.~Use Directory Pages
The Internet has grown in popularity over the years because it provides easy access to a directory of information. Internet users search continuously for topics on history, self-improvement, products, and services. Each link they follow takes them one-step closer to finding the material they need. How much more traffic would your website pull in if you added a "directory page" to it? More than you can imagine.
Including a directory means that your site is up there next to the search engine directories. Your site is also more likely to be added as a bookmark so people are likely to pay a return visit. Naturally, it would not do for you to lead surfers away from your own site. That is why you want to add links to sites that are not in competition with you and this will in turn increase traffic.
Nothing Beats Free Content
The BIGGEST TIME SAVER you can use is "other people's material". Stop wasting valuable time writing, when thousands of writers are begging you to use their articles and e-books. With online directories, it is easy to find authors that want to help you market your website. Internet authors are there to assist you, providing that you give credit where credit is due. Check out www.arciticlecity ..com for example. Sharing links or adding a credit link
works.
You'll end up with a fully functional website, in less time without the headaches. Content is very important, as is keywords. Why struggle with writing it, when lightning fast content is at your fingertips. All you need to do is look for it.
